Director Stanley Nelson and Freedom Riders

Freedom RidersDirector Stanley Nelson’s documentary Freedom Riders tells the story of the more than four hundred Americans who, in 1961, stared down the dangers of Deep South racial tensions to make a statement about segregation. Sean McCord spoke with Nelson about the film, screening Friday at Culbreth,  and the director’s long career as a documentary filmmaker.
