THE OSCARS® ARE BACK IN CHARLOTTESVILLE!

Put on the glitz and glam, walk the red carpet, and join your friends and fellow film lovers in celebrating the most exciting night of the entertainment year.

Join us for all of the thrills and surprises of the 84th Academy Awards® on Virginia’s largest high definition screen. Hollywood-inspired attire is encouraged, or better yet, come dressed as your favorite film character or movie star!

Benefiting the 25th Anniversary of the Virginia Film Festival,  the Charlottesville event is one of only 50 parties officially sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that will be held across the country on Oscar Night.

Tickets are $45.00 and can be purchased online the U.Va. Arts Box Office beginning Tuesday, January 24- the same day the 2012 Oscar nominations are announced.  Tickets will also be available by phone at 434-924-3376 or in person in the lobby of the U.Va. Drama Building, Monday through Friday from Noon to 5:00 p.m.

Tickets include:

  • The official Academy Awards® Program, the same program handed out to the stars at the Kodak Theater
  • live HD broadcast of the Oscars® hosted by Tara Wheeler & Dan Schutte of the Charlottesville Newsplex
